Kevin Rooney
Having spent 4 years in the Air Force traveling in this country and going to Norway, I have seen many different towns. I have also been on mission trips to Mexico and Romania. I have spent most of my life in the building industry mostly on single family homes and 4 years working as a E.R. Tech in three different hospitals. I also worked another 4 years as a Vascular Tech. The one thing that has made the biggest impression is that we have become so "compartmentalized" in every aspect of our society.
My vision is to plan and develop a community that is centered around its church and a farm that the people all get more involved as a unit. The organic farms would be supported by the local church families as well as feeding the local schools. Also having a local grocery keeping the profits locally instead of into a large corporation. These ties to the community would strengthen the bonds of the community and nourish an environment for building a stronger family and closer relationships within the community. |

As a mother of a child who was continually sick in her first three years of life, I have seen the difference quality natural foods can make in wellness. I know that the right information can change lives. I am passionate about seeing people's health and wellness be transformed by the right education and the willingness to learn truth and then to implement the truth into their everyday life. |

I am from a large family of 8 children. My foundational years were formed abroad. Family influences came from Thailand, Taiwan, India, Brazil, Philippines, Turkey, Jamaica, Sudan, Pakistan. We went to school or work with people from every country. Stateside, my family heritage comes from Tennessee farms to Chicago to the hills of California to Ohio. Virginia became our stateside home between countries. Moving so much I became an observer. My father, an engineer, brought better quality of life to people around the world. He helped bring clean water, electricity, roads and railroads. My mother loved to help the hurting. She has always believed we can make a difference. She has brought every type of person into the house. Today my husband and I have 5 children and live in Winchester, VA. We came here 15 years ago. We enjoy the old fashioned values and the country side of the valley.
I know we are given all the tools to have a community based on our own merits. The design of self sustaining communities with their own cultural strengths is a blessing to everyone’s family inheritance, each communities landscaping, ecosystems, and future strengths. We can all bring our best to the table. We can do this for our children’s children. I am very blessed with a husband who is very supportive and a future representative for CGA after he retires from the Corps of Engineers. Each communities blessing are the key to better solutions. |
